The Send-Off Party

The Send-Off Party

Iloilo Science and Technology University held a send-off party for four of us, me, Jeng Anggi Priyatni, Yohana Nenestalia, and Nuttaphong Yoodbonheung on February 15th. This farewell party was held on the third floor HRT hotel, on the HRT function room. There were so many people attended the party, including the president of ISAT U, Dr. Raul F Muyong, the dean of College Education, Dr. John Eric Janueza, our coordinator, Mrs. Shailani, and our closest friends in ISAT U, Ms. Shelah Torotoro, Mr. Charlie Robles, Mr. Jose Nino J. Maravilla, Mr. John Lorence, Rudica, Marty, Jane, and Pearl. Four of us, the exchange students, did not miss the party.

There many of them gave their short speech to let us go, including the president and the dean of college education. Four of us also gave our speech, even though it mixed with cries. We thanked to all people in ISAT U who welcomed us with a very warm welcome, great service, and great hospitability, until we felt like living at home. It was really comfortable to stay there because the people are so kind, and we did not have to adapt ourselves with the weather because it is the same with our country’s weather.

At the send-off party, we had our performance. Yohana Nenestalia from Banjarmasin perfomed a dance, it is a dance of Malay Zapin. After that, three of us sang one of Indonesian’s national song entitle ‘Tanah Air Beta’, or in English is ‘My Homeland’.

Jeng Anggi Priyatni and I gave a plaque of our university, Tanjungpura University. Yohana Nenestalia gave her university’s plaque, Lambung Mangkurat University. Meanwhile, Nuttaphog Yoodbonheung gave his university’s plaque, Kon Khen University. Unfortunately, I don’t have the pictures of us giving the plaques to the President of ISAT U.
